Silver Linings

Hi everyone!
So on my last post I mentioned how this time of year can be extra challenging when you see multiple social media posts about the many accomplishments of your peers. This post isn't meant to contradict what I said, but I did want to make something a bit more lighthearted for the blog. This isn't necessarily about accomplishments, but more about small things that I find myself thankful for right now.
If you struggle with finding happiness that way I do (mine is primarily through anxiety that causes a lot of overthinking and spiraling) then taking a minute of your day to jot down a few things you're thankful for might help. I find it helps me, but I'm also guilty of forgetting to do it for months at a time. Still, I wanted a more uplifting post and to reflect on the silver linings that I've found in my own life.
I am thankful for:
My boyfriend for letting me borrow his car after mine died so that I can still drive to my job everyday
That my mom is out of the hospital and recovering well after surgery
For my cats and their shenanigans
For some time off work, which has given me some energy and motivation to write and draw
That my parents are fortunate enough to work from home for the most part and have been safe during the pandemic
That I still have an income
That I got to spend a night at a ritzy cabin with a hot tub this year
That I finally found an affordable couch
That I found some home workouts that I like and found an affordable stationary bike
That I almost learned how to ride a bike at age 28 before banging up my knee pretty badly
That I was able to afford therapy and do a few months worth of sessions for the first time
That I have a roof over my head, a cozy apartment, and my health
Cheers to the new year!
